29 - OBRA LIMPA E (QUASE) PRONTA
Não, não é como uma loja que tem de ficar pronta para a abertura do shopping. Leva o tempo "que fôr necessário" para ficar bem. E que vai em função da agenda dos fornecedores e em função da "silly season" de Verão. Na construção civil, em Portugal, em Julho diz-se "isso agora metendo-se o Agosto já só pra depois das férias"; em Setembro: "sabe como é o pessoal ainda está a chegar de férias..."
Podia dizer como o outro - "é por isso que este país não vai a lado nenhum" - mas não. Prefiro mostrar o que se consegue fazer.
Maneiras que é isto.
29 - CLEAN AND (ALMOST) READY.

In July they say: "you know, now we have August, so maybe after the holidays..."; then in September "...you know, the staff is still holidaying ..."
And I could say: "that's why this frigging country ain't going anywhere".
But I don't. Not this time.

27 - CARPINTARIAS FINAIS E JARDINAGEM TERMINADA
Crepes tailandeses, relva; bouganvilleas, treliça; limoeiro, mojito; verão; madeira, tacto, morangos, perfume, porta, mão. São temas que acompanham a os trabalhos em curso, que pretendem acentuar os aspectos mais humanos e sensoriais da casa.
Porque é para isso que se faz arquitectura - para que as emoções aconteçam e a poesia seja possível.
Em curso: pavimento vinílico na cave, últimas ligações eléctricas e de especialidades (gás, etc.)
Em falta: Cera impermeabilizadora no marmorite, óleo de linhaça nas madeiras exteriores, vidros nos duches, espelhos nos quartos de banho; alguns acabamentos de carpintaria e de pinturas; balcão da cozinha, em mármore e encastráveis: chapim de pedra no muro exterior.
27 - FINAL CARPENTRIES + GARDENING: DONE!
Spring rolls, grass, Bouganvilleae, trellis, lemon, mojito, summer, wood, touch, strawberries, perfume, door, hand. These are issues that go along with the work in progress, which aim accentuating the more human touch of the house.

Ongoing: vinyl flooring in the basement, last electrical and specialty connections (gas, etc.).
Missing: Wax sealant in marmorite (marble mortar), linseed oil on exterior woods, glass in the showers, mirrors in the bathrooms, some finishing carpentry and painting, kitchen counter, with marble and concealed appliances; stone top in outer wall.
